According to the WhatsApp report, the company banned 84.58 lakh accounts in the month of August. Among them, 1,661,000 accounts were banned without complaint. This step has been taken in accordance with the Information Technology Rules 2021. In this, accounts that violate policies and are involved in illegal activities have been completely banned. Let us tell you that WhatsApp does not promote illegal activities and takes action if any suspicious activity is detected. Every year, action is taken against these accounts and they are permanently banned.

So many accounts banned in October
So far, 16.61 lakh accounts have been banned in the month of October. Let us tell you that WhatsApp’s automatic system identifies suspicious activities and then bans them.

Actions taken under this law
Let us tell you that the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had implemented IT rules in 2021. Under this, it is mandatory for social media platforms with more than 50 lakh users users to publish monthly reports. This report contains all the details of user complaints and the actions taken on them. This action has been taken under Rule 4(1)(d) and Rule 3A(7) of the Information Technology Rules, 2021. This has been implemented to ensure user security.
