The name of this upcoming smartphone will be “Nothing Phone 2A Community Edition” and it will be launched on October 30. The launch is believed to be the culmination of a community initiative that began in March 2023, where users will contribute to the design, packaging and promotional aspects of the phone. The company is led by Carl Pei, who confirmed the launch date via a post on social media platform X.
Project started in March
The Nothing Phone 2A Community Edition project was launched in March 2024, following the launch of the Nothing Phone 2A standard. The project lasted 6 months and took place in four phases. Community input was collected at every stage, including the design of the hardware, then the packaging, the wallpapers and finally the marketing campaign of the new phone.

The standard Nothing Phone 2a launched earlier this year, with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC. It has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen, whose adaptive refresh rate goes from 30 Hz to 120 Hz, which will give you a very smooth visual experience. Talking about the camera, it has a 50-megapixel dual rear camera and a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies. It also has an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and light splashes of water.
