Technical News Office Recently, Android 15 update was rolled out by Google and with it, new security and privacy features are now coming to Android phones. Theft detection lock is also included in the list of these features and with its help the phone can be protected in case of theft. This feature will automatically lock the smartphone as soon as the phone is stolen. Let us tell you about this feature in detail. With the new advanced security feature, if the phone is stolen, it will track the movement and lock the device. Understanding the importance of smartphone security, two features named Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock have also been integrated into Android devices. As for how the new feature works, it will be automatically activated by tracking the movement of the device.
Here’s how the new security feature will work
Google explained how the new feature works. If a thief grabs your phone and runs away or wants to escape on a bike and detects this sudden movement, the phone will be locked immediately. In this way, the thief will not be able to unlock the phone or access users’ personal data. The new feature is currently launching with Android 15 and will come to other Android devices later. However, devices running Android Go will not have access to it.
The remaining two features will work like this
The latest update also brings offline device lock and remote lock features. Firstly, with the offline device lock feature, this feature locks the device if the phone stays offline for a long time after it is stolen. Apart from this, with the remote lock feature, users can immediately lock the phone via another device after it is stolen, which is important in terms of data security.
