Mobile press office – South Korean tech company Samsung has launched its Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition phone after a long wait. Launched in South Korea, the company introduced this phone as the thinnest and lightest smartphone in the Galaxy Z Fold series. Reports have indicated that this device will be rebranded in China as Samsung Galaxy W25. Later, it can be integrated into other markets.

The thickness of the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is only 10.6 mm and its weight is 236 grams. It is 1.5mm thinner than the previous Galaxy Fold 6 and its weight has also been reduced by 3 grams. Upon opening this phone, you get an 8-inch foldable display, which offers an aspect ratio of 20:18. This is the widest screen ever on a Galaxy foldable device. Apart from this, a 6.5-inch display with 21:9 aspect ratio is available on the cover display.

Solid build quality and premium finish
Users will also benefit from a better grip on Samsung’s new smartphone, which resembles a slap-style device. It has an armored aluminum frame for solid build quality and a protective layer of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is provided on the front and back panels of the device. Its thickness when opened is only 4.9 mm. This phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Coming to the camera setup, for the first time, a 200 MP camera with OIS support has been provided in a Galaxy Z series device and features a triple camera setup with a telephoto lens of 10 MP in addition to a 12 MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, it has a 10 MP front camera on the cover display. The main camera offers 8K video recording at 30fps.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition has a 4,400 mAh battery. It supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Its starting price in Korea has been kept at 2,789,600 Korean won, which is around Rs 171,000 in Indian currency. It remains to be seen when this device will become part of the Indian market, or if it will be manufactured at all.
