Hackers attack the Amazon e-commerce platform! All data, including cell phone number and email, was leaked. Do you know how the error occurred?

Technical News Office – If you also buy on Amazon, this news is for you. Hackers attacked this giant e-commerce platform. Well, right now it’s not about panic or fear, because in this case it was the data of employees working at Amazon that was breached, not that of Indian customers. But if the security system of one of the world’s largest companies can be breached, then it becomes a matter of concern for people like you and us.

Data theft on Amazon
According to the Forbes report, a cyberattack took place on Amazon. In this cyberattack, the data of employees working in the company was falsified and external elements were able to access it. This data included contact details of Amazon employees, including phone numbers, email IDs, and addresses of individuals. According to the report, this cyberattack took place against a third-party vendor and there was no impact on AWS i.e. Amazon Web Services and their backend system (backend server). Amazon spokesperson Adam Montgomery said in a statement to the website TechCrunch that there’s no need for ordinary people to panic, because Amazon.com is also completely safe from this. According to the company, the cyberattackers were only able to access business contact details and the company’s cybersecurity system prevented them from moving forward.

Who got into Amazon?
According to information received, a group of hackers named Name3L3ss carried out a cyberattack on Amazon. In fact, this group of hackers leaked the data stolen from Amazon on a platform called BreachForums. This case of Amazon Data Breach is allegedly linked to MOVEit Transfer, which has made not only Amazon but many organizations around the world its victims in recent times.

What is MOVEit Transfer?
From the name of MOVEit Transfer itself, we can understand that it is the process of sending data from one place to another. Actually, it is a kind of vulnerability that enters any server system and digitally hacks the data present in the computer and then copies and pastes it into its system. It is worth noting that in May 2023, the name of MOVEit Transfer was discredited after a case of blackmail against a large company by stealing data. Over the past few months, sensitive data has been obtained by infiltrating numerous companies around the world. Before Amazon, companies like HP and HSBC were also victims of such cyberattacks.
