Technical News Office – During its Q2FY25 earnings call, Reliance Jio announced a special upgrade to its ‘True 5G’ network, which claims to improve user experience and increase battery life. Jio is the only telecom provider in India to provide 5G service through standalone SA architecture. The gigabit speed of this network reduces the phone’s power consumption, which can increase battery life by 20-40%.
How will battery life increase?
Reliance Jio’s SA 5G network includes technology upgrades, with a special focus on energy management. Reliance Jio Infocomm President Kiran Thomas said that battery efficiency increases through features like standalone architecture and media aggregation. Jio’s network allocates power saving bands well, which reduces the power consumption of the handset.
Improve call quality
Jio’s 5G network also includes Voice over New Radio (VoNR), which improves call voice quality on 5G and reduces call setup time. Apart from this, with the use of improved GPS algorithms, Jio’s 5G network performs better even within 10 meters, which is very beneficial for navigation and hyperlocal services.
Better experience in busy areas
With the help of Time Division Duplex (TDD) technology, Jio can easily handle multiple spectrum bands, due to which the network will remain strong even in congested areas. Jio’s 5G network can provide a better user experience even in densely populated areas. With all these changes, the company can definitely improve the battery of the phone.
