Technical News Office – Many people in India are being defrauded in the name of online investment. Fraudsters extract huge sums of money from them by luring them to make quick money. One such case came to light where clicking on a YouTube ad proved costly for a government doctor. This case comes from Tamil Nadu. The advertisement explained how to make money by investing in the stock market. The doctor lost Rs 76.5 lakh after falling prey to this publicity.

How did the fraud occur?
A medical professor from Government Medical College saw this advertisement on YouTube. As soon as he clicked on it, he joined a WhatsApp group. Some people in this group, claiming to be experienced investors, were explaining the tips for making money in the stock market. According to a report, the professor joined this group and gradually started believing their words. In the first days, this WhatsApp group gave the doctor information about investing in the stock market, thanks to which he felt that these people were really useful. The group was led by a person named Diwakar Singh, who often gave advice on buying and selling stocks. The doctor trusted these people and opened an account on the online trading platform.

The group members assured the doctor that if he invested according to their advice, he would make huge profits. He claimed that his money would be invested in shares of large companies in India and the United States. The fraudsters lured him with 30% profit by telling him about some stocks and names of new companies, due to which the doctor handed over Rs 76.5 lakh to him in three weeks.

Complaint filed with police
On October 22, when the doctor tried to withdraw his money, he was told that he would have to deposit another Rs 50 lakh, which was a fake institution. The doctor became suspicious and realized that he had been deceived. He then immediately filed a complaint with the police. Police are investigating the case
