Technical News Office – The Aadhaar card has become the main identity document for Indians. This unique 12-digit identification is very important for government services, banking institutions and telecom connections. It is a document that makes many tasks easier. But if not handled carefully, the card can also be misused. Due to the data linked to it, many such incidents have occurred over the past few years where fraudsters have used the stolen Aadhaar card information for financial fraud. Fraudsters often gain unauthorized access to many services. If this incident happens to a user, they might have to face blocks, financial losses, or legal issues in the future.
But now the question is: how can you check whether your Aadhaar is being misused or not? You can’t check it directly, but you can see where your Aadhaar number has been used in the past, such as for travel, accommodation, banking and other purposes. To help people secure their Aadhaar and monitor its usage, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced tools to help users monitor and protect their Aadhaar usage.
Follow these steps to know Aadhaar usage history:
First of all, go to the myAadhaar portal.
Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code and click on “Login with OTP”.
After that, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it to access your account.
Then select the Authentication History option and select the date range for the period you want to view.
After checking the logs, if you find many unknown or suspicious transactions, you can report them to the UIDAI.
For this, you can call the UIDAI toll-free helpline number 1947. Or you can send a mail to [email protected].
Let us tell you that UIDAI also provides the facility to lock and unlock Aadhaar biometrics to prevent misuse. Aadhaar biometric lock ensures that even if someone has access to your Aadhaar information, they cannot misuse the biometric information. For this, you can visit the UIDAI website on a lock/unlock basis.
