Jio-Airtel and Vi customers have had another shock! After prepaid plans, now postpaid plans have become expensive, know how much the prices have increased

Technical News Office – If you are using a postpaid SIM card, there is bad news for you. Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have all increased the prices of their postpaid plans by 12 to 25 percent and customers will have to pay more. Companies have come up with expensive plans based on the package. For example, the monthly plan of Rs 399 has now become Rs 449 and it has been increased by Rs 50.

Instead of raising prices all at once, telecom companies increased the prices of their plans at different times, so most customers didn’t even notice the change on the bill. From now on, invoices for October and November are sent at the new price. Apart from this, 18% GST has to be paid separately on postpaid plans. This is the reason why the price of postpaid SIM card has increased after the price change.

There will be a direct impact on these customers
There are over 120 million mobile users in India and 12% of them use postpaid services. This means that 13-14 million users using postpaid connections will have to shell out money. Telecom companies offer additional benefits and features such as data transfer with postpaid plans, making postpaid plans better suited to subscribers with high internet usage in urban areas. Of course, the price of the cheapest plan has increased by Rs 50, but if we see it with GST, this price is higher. If we understand for example, if someone had chosen a plan of Rs 399, then after GST, he will have to pay around Rs 530. Similarly, if the premium plan price was earlier around Rs 1,059, the subscriber will now have to spend around Rs 1,129 every month.

Pricing plans became expensive in July
It may be recalled that in July this year, Jio, Airtel and Vi had increased the prices of their tariff plans by 25 to 40 percent. Companies had made these projects expensive by citing the technology linked to the deployment of 5G and the cost it entails. After this, a new trend was observed that users were choosing BSNL and there was a decline in the user base of other companies. This is why companies are offering special plans to some postpaid subscribers, so that their postpaid subscriber base is not affected.
