Technical News Office –The Income Tax Department has launched PAN 2.0 to improve the process, convenience and security of allotment of Permanent Account Number (PAN). PAN 2.0 with QR code will be sent to users’ email address without any cost. As far as existing PAN cards are concerned, even after the introduction of PAN 2.0, PAN cards without QR code will remain completely valid. follow these steps:
Before applying for PAN 2.0, confirm that your PAN is issued by NSDL or UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited. This information will be available on the back of your PAN card.
How to apply for e-PAN through NSDL
1- Visit the NSDL e-PAN portal – https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html.
2- Enter Aadhaar (for individuals) and your date of birth along with your PAN.
3- Check the details and choose the option to receive a one-time password. Enter OTP within 10 minutes to continue.
4- You will have the possibility of three free requests within 30 days following the issuance of the PAN. After that, you will have to pay Rs 8.26 along with GST.
5- If the payment is successful, the e-PAN will be sent to your registered email id within 30 minutes.

How to apply for e-PAN via UTIITSL
1- Visit the UTIITSL PAN portal – http://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN_ONLINE/ePANCard.
2- Enter your PAN, date of birth and captcha code.
3- If your email is not registered, you will need to update it during the official launch of the PAN 2.0 project.
4- It is free for e-PANs issued in the last 30 days. After that, you will have to pay Rs 8.26.
5- Your e-PAN will be sent to your registered email id in PDF format.
