In this update, Samsung brings new features for widgets, app icons and vertical app drawer. Some new UI elements have also been included in it. Where was the One UI 7 beta rolled out?
One UI 7 beta began rolling out on December 5 for users in India, Germany, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Poland. Currently, only Galaxy S24 series smartphones have received the new update. If you want to take advantage of the new features available in the update, you will need to sign up for Samsung’s beta program. The update could roll out to other Galaxy phones once the Galaxy S25 launches.

Main features of One UI 7 beta
Vertical App Drawer – Built-in option available in the new beta update, alphabetical order can be selected by clicking on the three dots at the bottom right corner of the OneUI app drawer.
A “bar” has been added to the bottom of the lock screen. It has a music player, clock, map and live notifications from Samsung Health.
The update adds advanced writing tools that help summarize and format content using Galaxy AI.
The call transcription feature is also rolling out with the update, allowing Galaxy AI users to access automatic call transcription in 20 languages.
Apps like Camera, Calculator and Gallery have new icons. Along with this, the company has introduced new widgets for battery status and clock.
Features like charging indicator, battery indicator with quick settings and full display are available in the status bar. Along with this, the loading animation has also been improved.
The maximum battery protection setting can now be set to 80 percent, 85 percent, 90 percent, and 95 percent. The camera app has been updated with more buttons, controls, and camera modes. It has granular zoom control and a pro-pro video mode.
