Technical News Office,The Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI has changed its rules, due to which more monetary transactions can be carried out through feature phones. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das announced the increase in UPI 123Pay limit during the Monetary Policy Committee on October 9. After RBI’s decision, users will now be able to send Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 5,000 with the help of UPI 123 Pay. Also, UPI Lite wallet limit has been increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000. The big impact of the new RBI decision will be seen in villages and poor neighborhoods, where feature phones are still in use. The government has provided the facility of UPI payment without internet using feature phones. It is known as UPI123Pay. With the help of this service, monetary transactions can also be carried out through button phones. For this it is not necessary to have Internet in the phone. RBI believes that due to the new decision, an increase in UPI payments may be seen.
What is UPI123 payment?
This is NPCI’s phone-based UPI payment service, with the help of which you can make UPI payment without internet or smartphone.
How to Make UPI Payment Without Internet
For the UPI123Pay service, users will first need to dial 99# on their phone.
Next, users need to select option 1 on their feature phone.
After that, you need to select the transaction type.
Next, you need to enter the UPI ID of the UPI account to which you want to send money. The telephone number or bank account number will also need to be entered.

After that, enter your UPI PIN.
