Government issues red alert for Mozilla Firefox, if you want to protect yourself from data theft, do it immediately

Technical News Office – There is a major flaw in the Mozilla Firefox web browser. India’s cybersecurity agency Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has also issued a warning regarding the Mozilla Firefox browser. According to CERT-In, hackers can take advantage of these vulnerabilities to attack your computer and steal your information. This issue is also seen in older versions of Firefox, Thunderbird Email, and ESR.

Versions before 131, Thunderbird 128.3 and versions before 131 are at risk.
Cybersecurity agency CERT-In has issued a warning that versions before Firefox 131, versions before Thunderbird 128.3 and 131, and versions before Firefox ESR 128.3 and 115.16 are “extremely dangerous.” Hackers can take advantage of these vulnerabilities to breach your browser security. Moreover, hackers can also damage your data through fake websites.

According to CERT-In, hackers can force you to download bad files. Apart from this, they can also attack your system via clickjacking. To protect themselves, CERT-In advised Firefox and Thunderbird users to update their software immediately. Hackers can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack on your system by sending certain types of WebTransport requests. This means that they will send so many requests to your computer or server that it will stop working and you will no longer be able to use it.

How to update Mozilla Firefox software
To update the software, first open the menu in Firefox or Thunderbird. After that, go to the “Help” section. Click “About Firefox” or “About Thunderbird”. You will see a message if an update is available. Download and install the update. You will see a green mark once the update is complete. This way you can protect your computer.
