A few years ago, the Dhyan Foundation filed a complaint against YouTube. A derogatory video about Yogi Ashwini, the founder of this foundation, was uploaded on YouTube, in which he was called “Dhongi Baba”. The court ordered the removal of this video from YouTube. YouTube did not fully comply with this order, so a notice was issued by the court.
Accusation of tarnishing the image
This video has been removed from YouTube in India, but it is still viewable abroad. In the order passed regarding this derogatory video, the court had asked YouTube to remove the video from its platform, but YouTube blocked it only from India. The Dhyan Foundation claims that Google is deliberately tarnishing Yogi Ashwini’s image. The next hearing in this case is scheduled for January 3, 2025.
