Who is Prabhakar Raghavan?
Prabhakar Raghavan has taken over the role of chief technologist at Google. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Technology from IIT Madras. Raghavan was a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Prabhakar Raghavan was a consulting professor of computer science at Stanford University. He is the former editor-in-chief of the Journal of the ACM.

Before joining Google, Prabhakar Raghavan founded Yahoo Labs. He oversaw ad rankings and ad marketplace design at Yahoo. He also served as CTO at Verity and held various roles at IBM for 14 years, where he focused on algorithms, data mining and machine learning.
