Reliance holds major stake in Jiostar
Reliance JioCinema recently merged with Walt Disney-owned Disney Hotstar and Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries acquired a 46.82% majority stake in the new OTT platform, Jiostar.com. Disney Hotstar holds 36.84% stake, while Viacom 18 holds 16.34%. Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita Ambani is the chairperson of the new platform, which aims to bring high-quality OTT content to India at an affordable price.
