In such a situation, not only is there a fear of losing the hardware if the phone is lost or stolen, but there is also a constant risk of leakage or misuse of personal data. To avoid this problem for Android users, Google recently rolled out a new feature that immediately locks the phone in case of theft.
Google has named the new feature Theft Protection and it has been designed with data security in mind. The feature has been rolled out for everyone and you should enable it immediately by going to settings, so that there is no risk of personal data leakage in case the phone is stolen or misused. Let us tell you how to enable this feature.
You need to follow these simple steps
First of all, update your Android smartphone software to the latest version and open Settings.
Scrolling down you will see the option related to Google account, tap on it.
You will now see two sections named Recommended and All Services.
Tap All Services and scroll down. The theft protection option will appear here.
Enable and confirm the toggle given in front of this feature.
After enabling the feature, if someone grabs your phone and runs away or tries to steal it, the device will be locked immediately. It cannot be opened without you and there will be no fear of misuse.
