Mobile press office – OnePlus has also entered the foldable smartphone segment by launching OnePlus Open in 2023. The successor of this phone is about to arrive. A new leak indicates that OnePlus Open 2, the next-generation phone from OnePlus, will be launched soon. Tipster @Rodent950 claimed on Twitter that the OnePlus Open 2 could launch in the first quarter of 2025. This timeline also coincides with the launch of the Oppo Find N5, the Chinese version of OnePlus’ foldable lineup. Oppo Find N3 was launched globally under the name OnePlus Open. So, now that the Oppo Find N5 is coming, the OnePlus Open 2 is also likely to arrive. According to the leaked report, Oppo Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 could launch in Q1 2025.
OnePlus Open 2 camera system update
Interestingly, the leaker also shared information about possible changes to the camera system. Oppo tested a quad-camera setup similar to the Find X8 Ultra on the Find N5. But using four cameras is a possibility, as adding more cameras could increase the size and weight of the device. The old camera configuration can be kept in the new version. The OnePlus Open 1 model had an impressive camera setup that also included a 64-megapixel 3x periscope camera.

The phone has Android 13 which runs on OxygenOS 13.2. It comes with a 7.82-inch AMOLED 2K Flexi-Fluid LTPO 3.0 display. Coming to the external display, it is a 6.31-inch 2K LTPO 3.0 super smooth AMOLED display (1116 x 2484 pixels). It has a dynamic refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. OnePlus Open is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It has 512 GB of storage with 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. It has a three-state alert slider. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A face unlock feature is also provided.
The phone features a Hasselblad-branded triple camera setup. It has a 48-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). OnePlus Open also has a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. It also has a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with Sony IMX581 sensor. The phone’s internal display has a 20-megapixel primary camera. There is a 32-megapixel camera for selfies. The phone has a 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W SuperVOOC charging. An 80W charger comes with the handset.
