YouTube announced in a blog post that it will increase the length of short films to three minutes starting October 15. This change will apply to videos made in square or larger format. This will not affect existing shorts. The company said that many requests have been received from video creators for this feature. Along with this, with the template feature, creators will also be able to connect with new trends by creating familiar content. They will be able to combine their clips with trendy sounds, then personalize them. Short films can be recreated by choosing the Remix option and template.

Along with this, the company announced that it will launch Google DeepMind’s VO video generation AI model in the coming months. With this, more video backgrounds and different video clips will be visible. Last month, YouTube increased the price of its premium subscription in many countries. This subscription does not contain advertisements. YouTube has increased its prices in Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and many other countries. In some European countries, the price of its “single” package has been increased by around two euros. Apart from this, the “Family” plan has also become expensive.

Google-owned YouTube also recently increased the price of this subscription in India. Many Reddit users said that in the email sent by YouTube, they were informed that the premium subscription was expensive. In Ireland, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands, the price of the single package increased from 11.99 euros to 13.99 euros. Thus, the price of the family package increased by almost 40%, from 17.99 euros to 25.99 euros.
