Technical News Office – Video streaming service YouTube launched YouTube Shopping in the country on Friday. This service is already available in countries like America and South Korea. In this, video creators will have the option to tag brands in their videos. For this, YouTube has partnered with e-commerce sites Flipkart and Myntra.
The service will be available for horizontal video, live streams and short videos for web, mobile apps and connected TVs. YouTube said video creators will be able to sign up for this. Once the channel’s application is approved to join the affiliate marketing program, products and retailers will be identified in the channel’s videos. This will allow viewers to browse products without leaving the video. When the viewer clicks on the link, a purchase will be made on the retailer’s website. Commission rates for different products will be displayed during the marking process. A maximum of 30 products can be tagged in a single video.
However, there are certain eligibility requirements for creators. To do this, the channel must be part of the YouTube partner program. Along with this, the channel is expected to have over 10,000 subscribers. However, children and music channels will not be able to register. YouTube recently increased the price of its premium subscription in many countries. This subscription does not contain advertisements. YouTube has increased its prices in Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and many other countries. In some European countries, the price of its “single” package has been increased by around two euros. Apart from this, the “Family” plan has also become expensive.
YouTube, owned by Alphabet, which runs the Internet search engine Google, has also increased the price of this subscription in India. In Ireland, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands, the price of the single package increased from 11.99 euros to 13.99 euros. Thus, the price of the family package increased by almost 40%, from 17.99 euros to 25.99 euros. YouTube says the reason is to improve this premium service and support artists and creators.
