Technical News Office – OnePlus has finally announced the latest version of its custom Android skin OxygenOS 15. With the new update, the company promises to deliver faster performance, advanced AI features, and a minimalist design. Although the company is yet to share the list of devices eligible for OxygenOS 15, it did say that OnePlus 12 will be the first phone to get the latest software update.
So many new features in the new update
OxygenOS 15 will bring big improvements that should make OnePlus phones much smoother and more efficient. OnePlus is said to have made many improvements to animations with the latest OxygenOS update. The update also brings AI features like AI Unblur, AI Detail Boost. Let’s explain in detail the new features that we will have in the new OnePlus update….

So, the first feature is parallel processing, which means you will be able to open and close 20 apps continuously at a faster speed than iOS. The official video shows that the transition is happening smoothly, without any problems or delays.
memory
OnePlus phone users will get more storage space in OxygenOS 15. How? The company said that this operating system will use 20% less storage space than OxygenOS 14, which is pretty good and will be appreciated by many users. However, this feature will be available on the next-gen OnePlus flagship phones.
AI Features
There’s a new AI Detail Boost feature, which OnePlus says can transform low-resolution or cropped photos into 4K visuals. According to OnePlus, this feature can also automatically identify pixelated photos and provide clarity to the user with just one click. OxygenOS 15 also has the AI Unblur feature. OnePlus claims that it effectively fixes blurry photos without the need for another app.
Another feature is the AI Reflection Eraser. The company claims this option can remove strong and subtle highlights with just one click. A smart search feature has also been added to improve on-device search. Users will be able to start conversations and perform searches like humans. Whether you’re looking for a specific answer in a file, setting, or note on your smartphone, Smart Search delivers results specific to your query.
OxygenOS 15 also has the Circle to Search feature, which we’ve already seen on Android 14 devices. It helps you quickly identify elements in a photo or video. With a simple long press on the navigation bar or the home button, this feature will allow you to quickly find a photo by drawing a circle on the screen or highlighting it.
Pass Scan allows users to quickly scan paper or digital boarding passes. This feature works from both the camera and photo album.
You will also benefit from the AI Notes feature in OxygenOS 15. It offers features like formatting, enlarging or shortening content, adjusting formality, ensuring that your notes are neat and well-structured. Additionally, AI Notes are also voice-powered, making it easy for you to express your thoughts. The company claims that AI Notes can transcribe your words and also remove unnecessary filler.
The AI Toolbox also includes AI Reply, accessible from the smart sidebar. This feature understands your conversations with your friends and generates relevant responses. AI Reply will automatically activate in your AI toolbox when you use a chat app.
Gemini integration for real-time response
In OnePlus’ upcoming flagship device, the Google Gemini app will be integrated as the default AI assistant. So, according to the company, by using Gemini Live you will be able to resolve your queries in a better and faster way. You can brainstorm ideas, simplify complex topics. Gemini Live will soon be available in over 40 languages. You can talk to Gemini using your voice. This update seems similar to the updates Apple made with Siri (with Apple Intelligence).
New design and many system features
OxygenOS 15 also introduces a few design updates, including a new startup animation, new icons, more shelf card options, and additional fingerprint unlock style options.
In terms of interacting with the system, you will discover a new OnePlus OneTake feature. You will be able to cut out any element or object from any photo and use it as your lock screen wallpaper.
There is also a new “Share with iPhone” feature to make it easier to share files between OnePlus and iPhone devices. It allows users to transfer documents, photos and video files across different platforms with just one click.
OnePlus has also implemented shimmer effect and Gaussian blur in different system scenarios. Additionally, things like Settings, notification bar, and Control Center have been streamlined.
OxygenOS 15 beta will be released on this day
As always, OnePlus will release the beta version first and gradually release the stable version to the public. OnePlus has confirmed that the first open beta of OxygenOS 15 will be released on October 30 and will first arrive on the OnePlus 12, which is the company’s current flagship phone. While the new AI features are great, they won’t be available immediately. The company announced that the AI features will be rolled out in OnePlus products by the end of November. He also revealed that some AI features would only be available on certain models. We will have more information on this in the coming days or weeks.
Phones eligible for OxygenOS 15
For now, the brand has only confirmed one smartphone that will be the first to benefit from OxygenOS 15, namely the OnePlus 12, with the company also announcing that it will provide more information on its community page in the next few days. I hope OnePlus will roll out OxygenOS 15 at least for upcoming phones in 2024, such as OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Nord CE 4, and OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. Since OnePlus Open is also a premium device, it should also receive the update. What about older OnePlus phones? Well, this listing is not officially confirmed and OnePlus will likely release the OxygenOS 15 update for more smartphones (new and old).
