Technical News Office –OpenAI recently released its advanced voice mode for ChatGPT desktop. Launched in September, the feature was previously only available on the iOS and Android apps. Now it is also available on the web, so users can experience it on the browser as well. The company announced the update via X post. The feature, designed to make ChatGPT more efficient, is rolling out to paid users this week, meaning you’ll need to be a Plus, Enterprise, Teams, or Edu subscriber to access it.
How to use ChatGPT voice mode?
To start ChatGPT advanced voice chat on the web, click the voice icon at the bottom right of the ChatGPT prompt window. You must allow your browser to use your computer’s microphone. Once voice chat starts, you will be taken to a screen with a blue circle in the middle.
9 different voice options
ChatGPT features not one but 9 different output voices, each with a different tone and personality. It offers advanced voice interaction that feels natural and can express emotions, change tone, and even underline certain words for a more realistic experience. For example, you might choose Arbor, described as “relaxed and versatile,” or Amber, known as “confident and optimistic.”
There will be a daily limit in voice mode
Plus and Team subscribers will have a daily limit when using Advanced Voice Mode and this limit may vary. OpenAI will notify users that they have 15 minutes of voice usage left for the day. Free users will need to use the monthly preview to try the feature.
