Qualcomm India President Savi Soin told PTI at the ‘India Mobile Congress 2024’ here that under this partnership, the company will provide the Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 processor for Xiaomi phones and later it will also be distributed to other companies. “We worked closely with Xiaomi to fill a gap in the Indian smartphone ecosystem, where it was difficult to find a 5G phone under Rs 10,000,” Soin said.

On the occasion, Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B said that the company will introduce the ‘Made in India’ Redmi A4 5G smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 processor by the end of this year. This will be the first smartphone with a Qualcomm chip priced below Rs 10,000. He said Xiaomi will target users who want to upgrade from feature phones to 5G phones and there should be no compromise on their experience .
