Mobile press office – Realme recently launched the GT 7 Pro in China with a massive 6,500mAh battery, which is better than the latest flagships like the Oppo Find of 8,000 mAh for its next flagship phone. According to a recent post by popular tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Realme is testing an even bigger battery for its 2025 flagship phone, which could be the GT 8 Pro.
Will be billed in 42 minutes
The post suggests that Realme is looking to pack a 7,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, which will charge the device from zero to 100% in just 42 minutes. He further added that the company is also working on a 7,500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging and an 8,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, which can be charged from zero to 100% in 55 and 70 minutes.
Faster than iPhone and Samsung
The tipster says Realme may have to compromise between charging capacity and speed, but 70 minutes for an 8,000mAh battery is still faster than some popular flagship phones like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
How different this new battery is
However, silicon-carbon batteries using Realme’s Titan technology, like the one found in the Chinese version of the GT 7 Pro, do not support wireless charging. For those wondering, silicon-carbon batteries work like regular lithium-ion, but instead of using graphite as an anode, they use a silicon-carbon composite.
The end of power banks? If Realme offers a larger 8,000mAh battery for its 2025 flagship devices, we won’t have to plug in our smartphones every night before sleeping. Not only that, this device can also put an end to power banks as having such a big battery will eliminate the strain of charging the phone again and again.
