5G dominance
There is good demand for 5G smartphones in India. Around 38 lakh 5G smartphones were sold in the third quarter of the year. The contribution of 5G devices to total smartphone shipments reached 83%. It can be inferred that 5G devices are being purchased in large quantities by smartphone users. During the same period last year, this figure was only 57%. One of the factors driving this is the decline in the average selling price of 5G phones. The average selling price of 5G phones fell by 20% year-on-year.

Apple broke records
Apple sold the highest number of phones in India in the third quarter of 2024. According to the report, the company sold 40 lakh smartphones in the third quarter of 2024. The company’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 13 models recorded the highest sales in this area. The company has left Samsung behind. While Apple has gained a 28.7% market share, Samsung is lagging behind with 15.2% market share. Brands like Vivo, Oppo dominate the market even in the third quarter.
