The giant technology company Apple has received a major blow! iPhone 16 banned in this country, you will be shocked to know the reason

Technical News Office – AOn the one hand, Apple’s latest iPhone 16 series is receiving good feedback, on the other hand, Apple has suffered a big setback. The sale of Apple’s iPhone 16 series has been banned in Indonesia and its operation has also been stopped there. Even after that, if the iPhone 16 is sold in the country, it will be considered illegal.

What was the reason for the shutdown?
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita announced a ban on the sale and operation of the iPhone 16 series in Indonesia. He said no one should buy an iPhone from abroad. If the iPhone 16 is used inside the Indonesian border, it will be considered illegal. Even though it falls under the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) certification, according to the Indonesian government, Apple had many shortcomings in terms of investment in the country, which is the main reason for the iPhone ban in the country. Apple had promised to invest 1.71 trillion rupees (around Rs 919 crore) in local operations, but it invested only 1.48 trillion rupees (around Rs 795 crore). This deficit stands at Rs 230 billion (around Rs 123.6 crore), which the tech giant is yet to fill.

Why wasn’t the deal done?
Minister Kartasasmita said that if Apple does not give importance to investments in the country, why should its products be sold here. If Apple fails to deliver on its investment promises, the iPhone 16 ban will continue. Earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook was in Jakarta, where many points were agreed between the two. Even after that, there were many conversations between these two. However, even after that, the iPhone 16 Pro line and Apple Watch Series 10 were not distributed in Indonesia, which caused the most losses in Indonesia.

The Indonesian Ministry of Industry has confirmed that the TKDN certification application for the iPhone 16 is currently under review. Even if the company is right in this case, the iPhone ban will continue in the country. To remove this, Apple will have to fulfill the promises made regarding investment in the country.
