Police officials say that scammers who commit digital frauds were using these SIM cards, which is why the government decided to block them without wasting any time. According to reports, the government has taken timely measures due to which Rs 3,431 crore has been saved. This government measure brought great relief to the population.

Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar told the Rajya Sabha that to prevent financial fraud and misappropriation of money by fraudsters, the citizen system for reporting and handling cyber financial fraud has been launched in 2021 under I4C. So far, a financial amount of over Rs 3431 crore has been saved in over 9.94 lakh complaints.

The government has also launched the helpline number 1930 to report cases of cybercrime. You can file a fraud complaint through Chakshu, a service launched by the Ministry of Telecommunications. To file a complaint, one must go to https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/ then click on Citizen Centric Services on the site. After that, after clicking on the Report Suspected Fraud Communication option, the Continue for Reporting option will appear on the next page. You need to click on this option.

In the next step, some important questions are asked, such as what type of fraud happened to you via SMS, call or WhatsApp. After answering a few important questions, your complaint will be registered online. To avoid cybercrime, always remember not to click on unknown links and create a strong password.
