Technical News Office – Oxford University also praised the progress India has made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The prestigious Oxford University in England has published a case study on PM Modi’s Pragati platform. The university’s Said Business School and the Bill Gates Foundation worked together on this case study. He highlighted how the progress made under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has promoted digital governance and helped accelerate government projects. The report, titled ‘From Stall to Growth’, says India’s Pragati platform is a prime example of how digital governance can accelerate a country’s infrastructure development. The Pragati platform was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015. Its full name is “Proactive Governance and Rapid Implementation”.
Projects worth Rs 17.37 lakh crore gained momentum
Pragati has changed the way large-scale infrastructure projects and social sector programs are managed in India. Over 340 projects worth around Rs 17.37 lakh crore have been awarded to India through Pragati. Prime Minister Modi himself monitors the government projects alongside the states and ensures that the projects are completed on time. Pragati meetings are held from time to time, in which the central and state governments participate.
Oxford welcomes Indian projects
The University of Oxford case study provides examples of some of the projects delivered through the Pragati platform. The Chenab Bridge, the tallest railway bridge in the world, is a brilliant example of engineering. It is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link which now connects Kashmir to the rest of India by train. This will enable important social, political and economic contacts to be established.
Construction of 50,000 kilometers of national roads in a decade
Additionally, over the past decade, India has built 50,000 kilometers of national highways and doubled its number of airports. The Oxford University case study includes several such examples. This shows that India’s digital governance model is making its mark on the world.
