Technical News Office – Cybersecurity experts have warned users of the world’s most popular messaging platform, WhatsApp. It emerged that users using messaging apps were being targeted before Christmas and the attackers had become active. Every day, millions of users complain about their accounts being hacked and fall victim to attacks. WhatsApp users should keep certain things in mind and take some important steps immediately. WhatsApp users have the ability to share accounts by displaying a six-digit code on the screen and attackers also take advantage of this. If the security feature is not properly enabled on an account, the account is hacked through this feature. If you don’t want to lose access to your chats and account, there are three important changes you should make immediately. We share their list below.
Enable two-factor authentication
WhatsApp provides an additional layer of security called two-factor authentication or two-step verification functionality. You can find this option in the Account section of Settings. It sends a code to users that they must first enter to access the account.
Update your account email address
In the Meta-owned app, users have the option to update the email, making it easier to access the account in case of hacking or other situations. Email update is required for account recovery and can be updated by going to the Account section of Settings.
Select the passkey option
Users benefit from options such as biometric authentication or a password to access the application. Likewise, if you wish, you can use a physical key, without connection, without which the WhatsApp account will not be accessible. You can order this physical key online. Finally, the most important thing is that the 6-digit WhatsApp code is not shared with anyone. You need to pay special attention to this.
