Technical News Office –If you are a Netflix user, you should be alerted immediately. Cybercriminals are committing major fraud against Netflix users. Security researchers at BritDefender have alerted users to a major Netflix scam. According to researchers, in this scam, cybercriminals send fake messages to users and obtain their financial information. The hackers’ goal is to obtain banking details as well as credit card information of Netflix users. Tell us about this fraud in detail.

Users from 23 countries are at risk
This scam started in September and is still continuing. Users from 23 countries around the world, including Germany, America and Spain, are targeted. According to the report, cybercriminals send fake links to users to win prizes. Apart from this, users are lured into this scam by saying things like losing access to their Netflix account.

Cybercriminals send such messages
Here are two examples of messages that hackers send to deceive users:
1- ‘Netflix: There was a problem processing your payment. To keep your services active, please log in and confirm your details: http://account-details.com’
2- ‘Netflix: Your recent payment failed, affecting your current services. See details on 78hex4w.vitilme.info’

These messages contain malicious links that, when clicked, redirect users to a fake Netflix login page. As soon as they access the fake website, users are asked to enter their username, password and credit card details. This trick allows hackers to access users’ financial information, which can cause them huge losses.

How to Spot a Netflix Scam

2- Fake messages can be identified by messages with incorrect spelling and grammar. The links given in these also have no connection with Netflix.
