Well, no more cybercriminals! Government has released 4 digit helpline number, complaint will be heard immediately

Technical News Office – To stop the increase in cyber fraud incidents, the government has released a new national helpline number. The Ministry of Interior changed the national helpline number 155260 in 1930. The Department of Telecommunications shared the information about this new helpline number through its official X ID. This helpline number will particularly help people who have suffered some form of financial fraud.

Apart from this, you can also complain on the National Cybercrime Portal. This initiative launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) is an example of the commitment to providing a secure digital payment system to Indian citizens. Cyber fraud victims can call this 4-digit helpline number at any time. This helpline number is operated by the concerned state police.

From now on, there is no more mercy for fraudsters
On the complaint filed on this number, the details related to the cyber fraud will be taken and a ticket will be issued on the fraud reporting and management system. It will then be sent to the relevant bank, wallet or merchant, so that the defrauded amount can be frozen. Once the amount is frozen, cybercriminals will no longer be able to use this amount. Even if this amount is transferred to the fraudster’s bank, this process will continue until the amount is returned.

The national helpline number has been developed in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all public and private sector banks and online wallets. Through the helpline number, even people who cannot use the Internet will be able to report cybercrime. In addition, it is not necessary to go to the police station to report a cybercrime. With cybercrime incidents increasing in the country, the Ministry of Interior and I4C are closely monitoring. Furthermore, citizens are also made aware of cybercrime. This new government-issued 4-digit helpline number can be used for any type of cybercrime.
