According to a report by 91mobiles, the Xiaomi 15 is expected to launch in India as soon as the phone is listed on the BIS certification site. Xiaomi 15 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and the latest HyperOS 2. The Xiaomi 15 series will enter the premium segment. The phone comes with the optical feature powered by Leica. Let us tell you that Xiaomi 14 was launched in India in March this year in the Rs 70,000 segment.
Xiaomi 15 obtains BIS certification
The BIS certification does not reveal the marketing name of the phone, but lists the model number of the phone as 24129PN74I. This is a good sign that the company is gearing up to launch the phone in the country soon. The BIS listing only details the vanilla Xiaomi 15, not the Pro model. There are chances that the Pro model may not come to India. Since only the Xiaomi 14 was launched in India, not the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The brand is expected to start teasing this phone in the coming days.
This could be the price of the Xiaomi 15 in India
Last year, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 in China at a starting price of CNY 3,999, which became Rs 69,999 in India. The company has now launched the Xiaomi 15 in China for CNY Rs 4,499. With this price, we can expect the Xiaomi 15 to be launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 79,999.
Xiaomi 15 Features and Specifications (Expected)
The Xiaomi 15 phone comes with a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2670 x 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 3200 nits. It comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will have 12GB or 16GB of RAM coupled with up to 1TB of storage. It is equipped with a triple rear camera setup with Leica. The camera setup of this phone includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It has a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies. The Xiaomi 15 packs a 5,400mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs on Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 and has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
